The bite that started it
Bangalore. Two boys raging at their gaming stations. Mom walks in with a bowl of homemade murukku. One bite and both founders are, in their own words, transported to flavourland.

Some ideas begin with a gap in the market. Ours began with two boys on a gaming station, a lot of screaming, and a bowl of homemade snacks that nobody could put down.

The timeline
Bangalore. Two boys raging at their gaming stations. Mom walks in with a bowl of homemade murukku. One bite and both founders are, in their own words, transported to flavourland.
It stands for family gatherings, tea-time conversations and childhood memories. It's also the animated sound your brain makes when you bite into something ridiculously crunchy.
Behind every packet are the people who make and pack the murukku — the backbone of the operation. A bowl of murukku became a mission.
Five flavours, zero palm oil, and a growing community. South India first, then all of India, then everywhere tea is served.
Our vision
Katam Kutum was created to transform the Indian snacking experience. Traditional Indian snacks have addictive taste and rich cultural heritage — they just never got the innovation they deserved. Our vision is to lead the modern snacking segment through sustained quality control, innovation of taste, and a genuinely cool community.
In the future, whenever you think about exciting Indian snacks, Katam Kutum should be the first brand that comes to mind.
